Arteaga, Beatriz, 81, retired City of Wichita Health Department outreach worker and Catholic Charities interpreter and foster grandparent, died Monday, July 3, 2006. Rosary, 7:00 P.M., Thursday, July 6; service, 10:30 A.M., Friday, July 7, both at St. Jude Catholic Church. Preceded in death by son, Robert Navarrete. Survivors: husband, Cirilo; son, David Arteaga; daughter, Elizabeth Leal; brothers, Armando, Alfonso, Gilbert, Robert, Rudy, and Ray Gutierrez; sisters, Angeline Renteria, Lee Sweetland, Mary Dora Linares, and Rachel Rubalcaba, all of Wichita; grandchildren, Shelamar Leal, Jesse Leal, and Bernadette Serratos; 5 great-grandchildren. Memorials established with St. Jude Lords Pantry, 3130 N. Amidon, Wichita, KS 67204 and Catholic Charities, 437 N. Topeka, Wichita, KS 67202. Downing Lahey Mortuary West.

I am sending you my condolances and my memories of Bea when she worked as a Home Health Aide at the Health Department. She was a great worker and was loved by all her patients. She always took the bus to her clients homes. When she was off, her patients didn’t want anyone else to visit them. She often helped out as interpreter when needed. She was a great lady and your family should be very proud of her contributions to the welfare of others in our community.
