Betty Lou (Wood) Riedl

Betty Lou (Wood) Riedl, 85, loving mother, wife and friend, was welcomed into the house of our Lord on August 28, 2016. She was born January 25, 1931 to Rufus Hiram and Della Blanche (Hafner) Wood in Okmulgee, OK. Betty graduated from Cathedral High School, and attended Wichita University. She worked for the Cessna Employees Credit Union and Payroll department, retiring in 1996. Betty married Adolph H. (Jack) Riedl Jr. on December 26, 1949. They raised six children and were married 32 years until Jacks death in 1981. Over the next twenty years Betty traveled the world. She reconnected with her high-school beau, Mike Blume, in 2000 and they were married a short time later. They enjoyed wintering in Arizona where she learned to play golf. Mike passed away in 2014. Betty loved playing bridge, golf, girls outing and, of course, traveling. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Della Wood; brothers, Bob, Woodrow, Ralph and Harold Wood; sisters, Dorothea Wilson, Ethel McElhannon, Marie Abbott; husbands, Adolph H. (Jack) Riedl, Jr., and Mike Blume. Survived by daughters, Janet (Roderick) Duke, Carol (Larry) Tate, Sandra (Mark) Stump; sons, Ron (Lorena) Riedl, Rick Riedl, Steve (Tamra) Riedl; grandchildren, Neshela, Erica and Abby Duke, Emily Longhofer, Zach and Lance Airington, Megan and Henry (Stacy) Voyles, Jessica Shinkle, Garrett and Schuyler Stump, Natosha and Morah Riedl and eight great-grandchildren. Rosary is 6:00 pm Friday, September 2, 2016 at Downing and Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Mass is 10:00 am Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Church of the Magdalen Catholic Church.
