Nelson, Betty, 84, homemaker, died Sunday, April 12, 2009. Rosary will be 7:00 pm, today, with the mass 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 15, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband Jack Nelson who was a retired Boeing Wichita B-52 program manager of 42 years. Survivors: son, Michael (Linda) Nelson of Mill Valley, CA; daughter, Marcia (Frank) Yardley of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren, Sara Allena Nelson, Christopher, Jennifer Bryan Armstrong; 6 great grandchildren. A memorial has been established with St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 Stratford, Wichita, KS 67206. Downing Lahey East Chapel

Dear Mike, Marcia, Linda, Allena and Sarah, I was sorry to learn of Betty’s death. She truly was a favorite lady of mine! We visited most recently when I was working at the car dealership about two years ago. She was always animated; especially when speaking fondly of her children and grandchildren. Her easy smile and genuine nature endeared her to many, I am certain. She left a strong legacy with her children. That legacy lives on through her grandchildren. Her spirit will continue on for generations to come. Hold fast to the many wonderful memories you have of her. They are a permanent part of you, and will always be there for you to enjoy.
