Holstead, Beverly A., 77, passed peacefully Thursday, March 30, 2006 at the Presbyterian Manor in Topeka. Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Downing and Lahey East Mortuary in Wichita, and burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Beverly was born Nov. 8, 1928, in Cincinnati to Wilbur and Wilma Nelson and was raised in Newton. She was married to Richard L. Holstead on Dec. 26, 1951. She was a graduate of Emporia Teachers College. She settled into married life as a homemaker and school music teacher. She was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church in Wichita. Beverly is survived by her two children, a daughter, Carol E. Holstead of Lawrence, and a son, David N. Holstead of Topeka, and a sister, Barbara Scofield of Newton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard. She was much loved and will be greatly missed. Memorials may be made in memory of Beverly A. Holstead to the Topeka Presbyterian Manor, in care of the “Good Samaritan Fund,” 4712 S.W. 6th Street, Topeka, Kansas, 66606.
