Bobby “Bob” Dean Wray, Age 79, retired State Farm Insurance Agent of Wichita, Kansas returned to his heavenly Father on Friday, December 9, 2023. Bob was born on October 28, 1944, to Reverend Clifford and Juell Wray in Pontiac, Missouri. He married his sweetheart, Janice Marie, and had three children, Mellissa Wray, James Wray, and Brian Wray. After retirement, he enjoyed his other loves including church on Sundays, spending time with family, traveling, and was an avid hunter here in the states and Africa. Bob belonged to a church that he loved and greeted everyone with a handshake and a big smile. Bob is survived by son, James Wray, son, Brian Wray, and brother, David Wray. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Phillip Wray, wife, Janice Wray, and daughter, Mellisa Wray. Funeral Service is Wednesday, December 20th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Riverlawn Christian Church, located at 4243 N. Meridian Avenue, Wichita, KS 67204. The burial will take place in Pontiac, Missouri at the Pontiac Cemetery on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Services in care of Downing & Lahey West Mortuary.

My deepest condolences go out to the Wray family. Bobby was a life long friend as well as the only insurance agent that I used since I leaned to drive (1979) and up until he retired. I can’t count all the times he went out of his way to take care of my family through his insurance days. He was just that kind of man. I am certain he is at rest now and with his Lord and Savior. He leaves a legacy of kindness to all that he met in this life well lived. RIP Bobby.
