Brad Doan Nguyen, 24, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018. Brad was the type of person who would always help out, whether it be big or small. He was also a great person to have keep you company. Just an all around nice guy with a heart of gold. He was into a card game called Yu-Gi-Oh, which he was very passionate about. When asked what his favorite card is, he replied “Well, I dont have a favorite because I think they all play an important role.” Which can be seen as his way of viewing people in general. He is survived by his dad, Thu Nguyen, his mother, Hoa Doan, his brothers, Morgan and Dylan Nguyen, and his sister, Christina Nguyen. Services have already passed, but please keep Brad in your thoughts and remember the good memories hes shared with you. Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.

  1. I went to a school and church with Brad. I was never super close to him but being the same age and always seeing him around, Im absolutely devastated to hear that hes gone . I am so sorry that hes gone and I want you you to know that he was great person ,intelligent, kind and genuine. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

    Sincerely,

    Donald Nguyen

  2. I never got to know him well, but our paths crossed in such a unique way that I feel like it is worth sharing.

Back in High School, I frequently played a game called Team Fortress 2 on the Xbox 360. The community was small, so it was common to bump into regulars all the time. Eventually, you would get to know them indirectly via their username, which gave the community a small town vibe. Brad (aka DaScoutCombine) would was one such regular.

Where it became unique was when I was browsing YouTube one day for rhythm game videos and spotted his username in the comments. Given how many times we ran into each other on TF2, I had to send him a PM to ask if he was the same guy. And he was!

To think we would bump into each other in two vastly different corners of the Internet I thought was a cool happenstance. Over the years, we periodically exchanged messages about TF2 and rhythm games and even played a few matches of TF2 on PC.

We fell out of contact a long time ago, but what got me looking was his last login time on Steam. So sorry to hear he is no longer with us. He was a cool dude to play TF2 with and it was nice chatting about rhythm games with a fellow fanatic. Rest in peace fellow gamer!
