Bradley Crumley, 73, retired police detective, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Andover, Kansas

Bradley was born in Kingman, Kansas. His family moved to Wichita when he was young, and he graduated from Wichita Southeast High School where he lettered in wrestling. He attended Wichita State University studying criminal justice. He played rugby with the Wichita Barbarians Rugby Club. He joined the Wichita Police Department in 1977 and had various assignments including motorcycle officer. He retired as a Detective after 31 years. He was an accomplished woodworker and completed many projects for friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ernestine Crumley; his brother, David; grandsons, Aaron and James McAuliffe; brother-in-law, Lee Grandstaff.

He is survived by his wife, Mary McAuliffe of Andover; step-son, Chris (Gayla) McAuliffe; grandchildren, Molly, Matthew (Kayla), Daniel (fiancée, Sydney), Adriana, Cole (fiancée, Aelyn) McAuliffe. He is also survived by his brother, Greg (Dorothy); sister, Sue Grandstaff; sister-in-law, Lorrie Crumley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

  1. Brad Crumley, my motor buddy. He was a little guy, but stood tall in statue. Our Father above will take care of you Brad. My condolences to your family and sincere sympathy. I can see your smile now…RIP Brother

  2. Brad and I served together on WPD, and were also teammates on Wichita Barbarians Rugby back in the 70’s. Rest in peace brother.

  3. Brad and I were classmates and I remember him fondly. I always admired his career choice and service. My condolences to his family.

  4. Brad was a unique individual and worked many years with him at the theatre, I could always depend on Brad, we worked many years on the 6th floor and was always a good sight too see in the morning. You will be missed, condolences to Mary and Chris and all the family.

  5. Brad was so friendly and generous to all of us who used to work at the East Warren Theater. His late night walks and chats with all of the closing managers were deeply cherished, and I looked forward to seeing him every weekend. Your family is in my thoughts.

  6. I worked with Brad Crumley at the Warren when he worked security there. He was always so kind to me. What a sweet man. His family will be in my prayers tonight.

  7. Always felt safe working at the Warren with him there! Whenever I had to stay late he sat and talked with me in the lobby for hours. Praying for his family.
