Bradley Kent Ohlson passed in his Wichita home on Monday, August 21, 2023. Brad was best known by his friends and loved ones as a consummate prankster, savvy businessman and secret altruist. Brad is preceded in death by his beloved wife Sara, on whom he doted and with whom he had a life of adventure. From scaling Pikes Peak and enjoying the Broadmoor to spending time at Brad’s family farm in Hardtner, the two had a bond that was forged by Sara’s gentle patience and Brad’s mischievous disposition. After Sara, Brad’s second love was his business, O.K. Sales, which saw over 30,000 sales in his 40 years of business before his retirement in 2017. He ran his business much like he ran his life: through honesty, hard work and being good to people. Brad is survived by sister, Brenda Banta; nephew, Christopher (Hope) Lovely; niece, Megan Lovely; stepdaughters, Julie (John) Poe, Jennifer (Brett) Goswick; step-grandchildren, Ashly (Chris) LeBaron-Blanchard and other step-grandchildren; cousin, J.W. (Linda) Platt; and sons, Brad Ohlson, Jr. and Todd Ohlson; and countless friends.Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary, 6555 E. 1. Every member of my family loved Brad. After my husband Gene passed away, Brad took myself and our children under his wing . He didn’t have to, he chose to. Larry followed his lead and I often went to them for business advice .
We bought many vehicles from Brad .
My fondest memory was forcing Brad , Larry, and Tommy to judge our employees Halloween costume contests each year.
There are many other memories! I can’t possibly list them all here as we knew Brad for over 40 years .
He was the biggest practical joker. His fake mongoose was one of my favorite pranks he pulled . I’ll never forget Brad Ohlson. I considered him a friend as did my family .
