C. David Dave Burrus

C. David (Dave) Burrus, CPA and financial officer, peacefully entered eternal life, surrounded by his loving family, on July 31, 2016 at the age of 91. His parents were Frank Corbin Burrus and Mary Edith Erwin Burrus. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Virginia Rosenthal Burrus, in 2008; and by his infant son, Mark Burrus; his grandson, Jack Siegrist; and his son-in-law, Jerry Sutera. He will be missed dearly by his daughters, Linda Sutera and Susie Sundberg (Robert) of Kansas City; and his sons, Kevin (Shelly), Mike (Kathy) and Brian (Susan) of Wichita, as well as his 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Dave was in the Army during World War II and served in Europe and the Pacific. He was secretary-treasurer and served on the board of directors of Rounds & Porter Lumber Company and eight subsidiary companies. Later, he was financial vice-president of Southwest Paper Company when he retired in 1990. A rosary will be prayed in his memory at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 3 and his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 4, both at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
