Erhard, Carl H., 91, retired Pierce National Life Insurance agent (Purple Shield), died Thursday, June 8, 2006. Service, 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 12, 2006, Woodland United Methodist Church, 1100 W 15th. Carl served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and was wounded in action in France. He was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans and a 50-year member of Midian Shrine, Albert Pike Lodge, and Wichita Scottish Rite. Preceded in death by parents, Harry and Della Erhard; two brothers, Homer and Virgil Dean; seven sisters, Mona Huffman Casto, Letha Jones, Frances Rutledge, Dorothy Williamson, Demis Rice, Wanda Lee McEachern, and Betty Stauffer. Survivors include his wife, Frances (OBrien) Erhard; sister, Phyllis (Mrs. Arthur) Long of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Juanita Spencer of Kernville, CA; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Erhard: I am so sorry to hear about Carl. His smiling face will surely be missed. When I would drive by your house going to Mom’s house, Carl would a lot of times be out working in the yard. The yard always looked so perfectly beautiful. Please know I am thinking about you.
