Carmen Dian Williamson 75, Wichita, KS, died May 23, 2018. She was born Carmen Dian Weaver in Glendale, CA, on April 17, 1943. Carmen grew up in Grand Rapids, MI with her sister Sondra. Carmen was free-spirited, and spent many a weekend on Lake Michigan. She got her private pilots license and joined the Air Force, where she met her husband, Gary Robert Williamson. She completed her enlistment and was honorably discharged from the Air Force. She and Gary got to travel and see the world. Their longest station was in Germany, and both of their daughters were born there. Carmen exposed her daughters to many diverse cultures and customs, instilling a sense of independence and free-spiritedness in them as well. Carmen became an administrative assistant for the University of Texas Institute for Geophysics in Galveston, TX. She completed her MS degree at Florida Institute of Technology in Acquisition and Contract Management. She and Gary later moved to Alabama, where she held the position of administrative specialist with Engineering and Economic Research. She retired when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She survived breast cancer, and moved to Wichita with Gary. She took on the role of housewife, traveled to visit with friends and family, and became a talented jewelry maker and crafter. In 2013, her health declined from COPD and a host of other medical issues, but she always managed to bounce back. On May 23, she succumbed to complications from hip surgery with her primary caregiver, Stephanie Williamson, and daughter, Daw
