Carol Marie Sellens, 82, of Wichita, Kansas, died Thursday, December 1, 2022 in her home at Brookdale Living Solutions in Wichita, Kansas.Graveside Service will be at 11:00 am, Monday, December 5, 2022, at Resurrection Cemetery, 1640 N. Maize Rd., Wichita, KS.She was born on October 24, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of David and Mildred Wharton. She married Ronnie Paul Sellens Sr., her high school sweetheart, and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2012.Before her retirement she was a homemaker, co-owner and manager of businesses she and husband owned (craft store, pet store, 3 art/framing galleries and WG Samuels Carpet Company). Until her moving into the Brookdale Senior Living Solution housing she was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, in Wichita, Kansas and was a starting member of 3 Independent Baptist churches in Goddard, Kansas and Denver, Colorado.She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mildred Wharton; brothers, Sonny and Johnny Wharton; and her sister, Shirley Dickerson.Carol is survived by her sister, Kathleen Aguilera, Wichita, Kansas; brother, Mike (Becky) Wharton, Tyro, Kansas; sister, Patti (Jim) Dawkins Aurora, Colorado; her four children, Ron (Sharri) Sellens, Holton, Kansas, Tim (Kim) Sellens, Ozark, Missouri, Debbie Harp, Kechi, Kansas, Donna (Tim) Davis, Clearwater, Kansas; and her 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
