Carolyn D. "Carel" Drechsler

Carolyn D. (Carel) Drechsler, 76, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, surrounded by family and friends, after a short but serious illness. Born in Ninnekah, OK on April 30, 1940, she graduated from Chickasha High School in 1958 and Enid General Hospital School of Nursing in 1961. She retired in November 2016 after a long career in nursing and health care related support functions. Carolyn was an enthusiastic fan of Elvis Presley, Roy Rogers, George Strait, country music, hamburgers, and Coke. She had a special love for her 2 dogs, Gracy and Bella, and loved all animals big and small. Carolyn was a member of Central Christian Church. She is survived by her son, Greg Drechsler of El Dorado, KS; daughter, Nicole Mikelonis of Spring, TX; granddaughters, Amanda Drechsler of Augusta, KS, Hannah, Brooke, and Morgan Mikelonis of Spring, TX, Amy Terry of El Dorado, KS; grandsons, Rob Drechsler of El Dorado, KS, Jared, Jacob, and Jesse Drechsler of Wichita, KS, Adam Terry of Douglas, KS; great-grandson, Decker Drechsler of El Dorado, KS; plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her son, Jeff Drechsler; parents, Jess and Claudette Carel; brother, “Bud” Carel. Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
