Landrus, Carolyn M., 67, died Friday, July 17, 2009. Memorial service 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 23, Grace Presbyterian Church. Carolyn worked in the canteen at the V. A. Hospital for many years. Preceded in death by father, Allen Landrus. Survivors: mother, Margaret Landrus of Wichita; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn and John McCreight of Ellsworth, KS and Marvelyn and Joe Burnette of Wichita; 5 nephews; 3 nieces. A memorial has been established with Grace Presbyterian Church, 5002 E. Douglas, Wichita, 67208.

My parents, Everett and Nina Cole, were members at Bethany Presbyterian in the 50s and 60s. My brother, Jim, and I grew up in that church. I have fond memories of Carolyn. She was so friendly to us kids, and seemed to have such a good-hearted soul. She was so happy coming to church, and I’m sure God has plans for her now. My family and I pray for Carolyn’s family in this time of sorrow. I feel sadness myself, but the joy she brought us Cole kids makes it all seem so much brighter. She was a sweetheart. I am a retired special education teacher here in Wichita, in case you are interested. God bless you all.
