Catherine Emmajean Jansen

Catherine Emmajean Jansen, 92, joined the Lord on Monday, February 8, 2016. Rosary, 5 p.m., followed by a visitation with the family from 6-8 p.m., both Friday, February 12 at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 13 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Interment will be in Fountain, Colorado. Catherine believed in the importance of family and lived this example as a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born October 22, 1923 in Virgil, Kansas, the daughter of the late Richard F. and Margaret E. (McClosky) Giese. Catherine married Richard Hans Jansen on March 25, 1950 in Raton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded by her brothers and sisters. Survivors: children, Warren E. Cornett (Suzanne) of Fort Wayne, IN, Florence E. Jansen-Olsen, Richard H. Jansen II (Brenda) all of Wichita, Teresa M. Thimmesch (Timothy) of Grand Rapids, MI, Samantha Barthelme of Wichita; grandchildren, Amanda Wilt, Clifford Cornett, Buffy Osborn (Steve), Brenda Wright (Jay), Branden Jansen, Katie Thimmesch, Jenna Pike (Travis), Beth-Ann Thimmesch-Harpold (Steve), Stacy Gramza (John), Nicholas Thimmesch, Sarah Grice (Rick) and Emily Thimmesch; great-grandchildren, Jaren Wilt, Bailey Wilt, Devan Wright, Corbin Cornett, Austin Wright, Hudson Harpold, Charlotte Pike, Alexandria Thimmesch, Cayden Wright and Logan Gramza; sister-in-law, June Bartol of Seattle, WA; nephews, Mike McLaughlin (Kathy) of Earlham, IA, Dennis McLaughlin of Des Moines, IA and Roger McLaughlin (Kathy) of Stuart, IA.
