Cauley, Guy Adren Jr., was born June 22, 1944 and passed away September 16, 2009. He was the second child of Guy and Ann Cauley. After moving to Wichita as a 4-year old, His loving nature made him protective of his two sisters, Annette and Brenda and younger brother, Joe. Guy graduated from Wichita North High School in 1962, where he met his lifetime love, Rosemary. They both attended Wichita State University, and were married December 27, 1970. The couple had their only child, Rhody, in July 1973. Guy became a commodity and stock broker in Wichita. After a successful career as a broker at various firms, his entrepreneurial spirit took over and he led several businesses and a number of real estate ventures. He loved rebuilding classic cars (especially his 59 Impala) and homes. He also loved Wichita State Basketball and gourmet cooking. He was a voracious reader, enjoying non-fictional accounts of the Civil War, WWII, and other books about history. For the last seven years, he was known as, “Poppy” by his only grandchild, Adren, who was his “angel baby”. Preceded in death by parents, Guy and Ann Cauley, and brother Joe Cauley. Survivors: wife, Rosemary; daughter and son-in-law, Rhody Kraig Burnett; grandson, Adren; sisters, Annette Wells and Brenda Terbush; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 AM Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 at Downing Lahey East Chapel, 6555 E. Central. Friends are encouraged to drive classic cars to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial has been established with the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 N. Halstead, #201, Chicago, IL, 60642-2691. Guestbook

  1. Dear Loved Ones of Guy Cauley Jr. whom our families (Minton and Cochenour)always called Sonny. It is a shock to learn of his passing. He and I spoke this past year about opening a wallpaper store at Cauley Corner. He was much too young too leave us. Annette and Brenda, I would love to visit with you at your convenience. I have found photos of your Thomas family members, at an old church gathering. Please send my condolences and greetings to them also.

  2. Rosemary, I was so shocked to read about Guy’s passing from this earth. We became instance friends over 30 years ago when he worked in Hutchinson. We laughed and talked about all kinds of things but the one constance was his love for you. I will miss knowing he is no longer living here but look forward meeting him again in our next life.

  3. Rosemary, It is with a saddened heart that I write you this tribute. I only knew Guy through you, but know that he had to have been an amazing man to have captured and kept such an amazing woman for so many years. My prayers are with you and your family as you celebrate his life and learn to live the rest of your lives without him. I pray God will keep you in His loving arms throughout this very difficult time.

  4. Rosemary and Rhody, We were saddened to read about Guy! We’re sorry we won’t be able to be at the service on Saturday due to an unchangeable prior committment. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers!

  5. Rosemary, Rhody, Kraig and Adren may God hold you in His embrace. Guy was a wonderful man – I have many fond memories of him during the time Rhody and I attended high school and college together. He was ever the protector of his family! Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love LeAnne

  6. My heart was so grieved when I read your dear husband’s obituary in the paper this morning. I didn’t know him, but I knew you so well from all of my times subbing at Allen. Knowing you helps me to realize what a wonderful person Guy must have been. My thoughts, my tears, and my prayers are with you as you go through this very difficult time. May the Lord supply you with abundant grace and strength.

  7. Rosemary, Rhody, Kraig and Adren: I loved Guy so much. He was one of the most alive people I’ve ever met. I will always hear his laughter and see his mischievous grin and smell his cologne. Most of all, I’ll always remember the caring advice and friendship he gave to two random 20-somethings in the apartments next door.

  8. Rosemary and Rhody, I am so sorry to hear about your loss! I know how much he meant to you and what a wonderful man he was. You are in my prayers! Kelly Cotton

  9. Rhody, I was so saddened to hear of the loss of your father. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

  10. Rosemary, I just read this online. I am so sorry for your loss. I am thinking about you and hope you know that he will be missed.
