Charl “Chuck” Jay Reinbold, age 79, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024 in Wichita, KS. He was born on June 5, 1945 to Lawrence and Clarys Reinbold in Salina, Kansas. He served his country in the US Army Helicopter Unit at Fort Stewart, GA, from 1968-1970. After his military service Chuck worked for Skelly Truck Plaza, Western Electric, and Southwestern Bell where he retired as a manager. He and Margaret married on August 30, 1974 and spent many happy years in Hays, Topeka, and Liberty, MO. Their best years were following retirement which they spent at their home in Colorado, traveling in their RV, and finally wintering in their home in Arizona. They made many friends along the way and had more than a few adventures. Chuck was an avid golfer, a talented builder, and had the best lawn of the neighborhood. We’ll remember him, though, as a wonderful brother, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He taught us by example the importance of hard work, the satisfaction of a job well done, and how to face challenges and setbacks with strength and determination. Chuck is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Reinbold; parents, Lawrence Reinbold and Clarys Reinbold Marlin; brothers, Tommy and Roger Reinbold; and sister, Judith Calloway. He is survived by daughters, Dee (Curt Van Boening) Dunlap of Wichita, Karen Gretsky of Wichita, Stephanie (Dave) Boyce of Carlton, KS; sons, Chuck (Jamie) Reinbold, Jr. of Rockledge, FL, and Marc Reinbold of Salina, KS; grandchildren, Tyler (Jennifer), Alex (Daysha), Heather, David, Marissa, Devin, Chaz, Nicole; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Vicki Reinbold of Salina, KS and Debbie Reinbold of Salina, KS; brother, Mike (Debby) Reinbold of New Cambria, KS; and sister-in-law, Sue Arpin of Apache Junction, AZ. A memorial has been established with First Tee of Greater Wichita, P.O. Box 8313, Wichita, KS 67208. Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, December 30, 2024, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
