Charles Harley

Charles “Chuck” Harley, 70, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27 at Westwood Presbyterian Church. In 1966, Charles graduated from Purdue. He went to work for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, Missouri then Fairchild Republic in Lancaster, California. Charles moved to Wichita in 1977 and worked as a test pilot and aeronautical engineer for Cessna and later retired from Boeing as an aeronautical engineer. He was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Margaret. Survivors: daughters, Jacqueline Sweet (Kenny) and Christine Jurak (Joe), all of Wichita; step-daughter, Debra Doughty (Russ) of Columbia, IL; granddaughters, Eliza Sweet and Victoria Sweet; step-grandsons, Johnathan Burdg and Jordan Burdg; step-granddaughter, Hannah Doughty; brother Dick Harley (Barbara) of Laguna Beach, CA.; sister, Margaret Harley of Tallmadge, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorials established with Youth Horizons, Inc., 1601 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67211 and Commemorative Air Force, Jayhawk Wing, 2560 S. Kessler, Wichita, Kansas 67217.
