Hund, Charles M., 87, former teacher and retired Pyramid Life Insurance Agent, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2006. Rosary, 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 26; service, 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 27, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Charles was born July 10, 1919 in McFarland, Kansas. A decorated Army veteran, he served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a graduate of Kansas State University and received a masters degree from Colorado State University. Charles and Anna Mae Habiger were married August 21, 1948 and were together for 58 years. Preceded in death by son, Melvin; parents, Moritz and Mary Anna; brothers, Roman and Gilbert; sister, Helen. Survivors: wife, Anna Mae; sons, Dr. Larry (Margy) Hund of Wichita, Dr. Morris (Betty) Hund of Fargo, ND; daughters, Karen (Greg) Perkins, Ruth Ann Timmermeyer, all of Wichita; grandchildren, Alison, Carolyn, and Laura Hund, Melissa and Sarah Hund, Brian and Lindsay Perkins, Brad and Jeff (Theresa) Timmermeyer; 1 great-grandson; brother, Elmer Hund of Merriam; sister, Rosemary Habiger of Topeka. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Lords Diner, 520 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214 and Kansas Pediatric Foundation, P.O. Box 860481, Shawnee, KS 66286. Downing Lahey West.
