Charley (Charles) Albert Morgan passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, at the age of 85. Charles was born to Charley and Beatrice (Potter) Morgan on March 3, 1938, in Peru KS. He graduated from East High and WSU in Wichita, Kansas. Charles Morgan served in the U.S. Marine Corps from September 1955 to September 1959. On May 17, 1956, Charles and Grace Morgan were married. Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, and uncle. He worked as a clerk of the District Court, worked at Sedgwick County courthouse and Boeing Airplane Company. Survivors include his son, Carlos Morgan (Karen) of Wichita; grandchildren: Amber Khounsavatdy (Toby) and family of Winter Park FL, Andre Morgan (Krystina) of Wichita, Angely Morgan, Armond Morgan of Wichita and Alecio Morgan of Fayetteville, NC; sister Twila Rittenberg of Bellingham WA; brother-in-law Cayetano Chavez II (Denise) and family of Wichita; and many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Belle and brother-in-law Willis McClurg, and brother-in-law Ron Rittenberg. Services will be at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Wichita, KS on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Rosary will be at 10:00am followed by the funeral mass. Graveside services will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials have been established with: Interim Hospice, 9920 East Harry Street, Wichita, Kansas 67207 and Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, New York 10001. Services in care of Downing & Lahey West Mortuary.

  2. I wanted to extend my condolences to the entire Morgan family for the loss of Mr. Charles Morgan. I was privileged enough to have met him and enjoyed our visits together and a beverage or two with Carlos in the backyard of his home.
    I also wanted to acknowledge his military service and give thanks to & for the veteran sacrifices he experienced.
    May perpetual light shine upon him now and always.
