Charlie Dean Scott

Charlie Dean Scott (89) of Wichita, KS passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. He was born in Springdale, AR to Pierce and Eunice Scott. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad as a conductor with 35 years of service.Charlie served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He was an avid RVer, having traveled with his wife, Beverly, across country for 28 years. Charlie hosted 3 summers at Natural Falls State Park in Oklahoma. For 16 years, he lived at Viewpoint RV & Golf Resort in Mesa, Arizona. Charlie was a member of Sharpshooters Dart Club and was on a shuffleboard team. He loved his job with the Santa Fe Railroad and his collection of railroad memorabilia. He was also a notorious prankster with neighbors and friend. Charlie will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Beverly; son, Jeffrey A. Scott of St. Augustine, FL; granddaughter, Alexis Scott of Orlando, FL; 2 grandsons, Shane and Scott Proctor; brothers, Ralph Scott, Tommy Scott (Rita), Jimmy Scott (Linda); sister, Marie Dee, all of Springdale, AR; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pierce and Eunice; daughters, Diana Jeanette Scott and Barbara Montz; brothers, Keith and Kenneth Scott. To honor Charlie’s memory, services will be held at Downing and Lahey Mortuary – West Chapel. The memorial service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
