Cheryl Ann CJ Shaffer

Cheryl Ann "CJ" Shaffer, 70, retired florist, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017. There is a bright new star in heaven. C.J.s soul was as beautiful as the floral creations she created, for over 25 years. C.J. never met a stranger, never too busy to stop and chat wherever she was. Her love of children was unparalleled, as a result, children flocked to her as if she was the pied-piper. C.J. believed and lived her life by a simple principle: "If you would be loved, love and be lovable." This quote by Franklin describes who C.J. was and how she lived her life. Funeral service is 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 26 at Downing and Lahey East Mortuary. Preceded in death by her brother, Larry Coursen. Survivors include her husband, Steve; daughter, Belinda (Darren) Briggs of Selma, TX; grandson, Brandon (Yvonne) Briggs of Selma, TX; granddaughter, Kristin (Nicolas) Pushic of Ft. Stewart, GA; great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Gavyn Baer of Sunset, UT; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N.
