Chris Simon

Simon, Chris, 54, Sr. Vice President of Southwest National Bank, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014. Rosary will be at 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, February 12, 2014; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 13, 2014, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Born on Christmas Day in 1959, Chris graduated from Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School in 1978 and from the University of Kansas in 1983. He grew up hunting, fishing, water skiing, golfing and continued to be an avid KU basketball fan all his life. He passed on his love of these activities (and of his Jayhawks) to his three children. Chris was a loving son, brother, husband and father. Survived by his wife, Laurie Simon of Wichita, KS; children, Tracy (Nick) Ferguson of Denver, CO, Joanne Simon of Lawrence, KS, David Simon of Lawrence, KS; parents, Frederick L. and Norma Jean Simon of Wichita; sister, Sue Wilcox of Wichita; brothers, Rick (Jana) Simon of Omaha, NE, Randy (Alice) Simon of Wichita, Bill (Sally) Simon of Wichita, Jon (Betsy) Simon of Wichita; numerous nieces and nephews.
