KINGMAN - Tebu, Cora Belle, passed away on November 27, 2013, at age 95. Born Cora Belle Vincent, June 4, 1918, she was raised on a farm in western Oklahoma during the hard times of the “Dust Bowl” years. She graduated from Central State Teachers College, after which she taught at Kingman and Greensburg, Kansas. Her future husband, Charles Tebu, had emigrated from Romania, to a Romanian community in Cleveland, Ohio, where he learned the furniture trade. The couple met on a train during the war, while Charles was in the military (and very handsome in his uniform), and she was traveling to see her parents in Chicago. “Charlie” soon came to visit Cora Belle in Greensburg and they were married in 1945. Charles started his own business and Cora Belle taught and served as Greensburg High School Secretary for many years. To this union were born two children, Nelson and Karen. The Tebus were loving parents and very active and well-known in their community. They were married 52 years before Charles death in 1998. Following the Greensburg tornado of 2007, Cora Belle moved to Kingman, Kansas, where she was graciously included in the community, senior center and the Kingman Christian Church. Cora Belle was also preceded in death by son, Nelson who died in 2004, and grandson, Rigel Barber who died in 1983, at age 10. Cora Belle is survived by: daughter, Karen Bradshaw (husband Arden) of Wichita; granddaughters, Mira Mullen and Abby Bradshaw of Wichita; great-granddaughter, Sadie Belle Mullen; and step-granddaughters, Allison Bradshaw of Palm Desert, California, and Heather Bradshaw, of Denver, Colorado; and many friends in Greensburg, Kingman and other parts of the country.
