Thomas, Corliss, 92, retired Wichita State University Registrars Office and Psychology Department, died Saturday, October 14, 2006. Service 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, Downing Lahey Mortuary East with burial following at Wichita Park Cemetery. Corliss was born September 4, 1914 in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from Wichita State University in 1936, with a Bachelors Degree in Education. She was a 70 year member of College Hill United Methodist Church. Corliss will be remembered for her love of arts and crafts, flowers, decorations, bridge and WSU basketball. Corliss was active in many organizations including Twentieth Century Club, Rotary Anns, Project Beauty and Amy Mahans Mothers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Edwin Thomas. Survivors include: daughter, Marilyn Sheppard of Wichita; grandchildren, Toby Sheppard (Monica) of Ft. Collins, CO, Craig Sheppard (Lisa), Sofia Bulgaria, Tracy Robin Bircher (Randy) all of Wichita and Tad Sheppard of Wichita; great-grandchildren, Tory, Benjamin and Jesse Sheppard of Ft. Collins, CO, Jared, Nathan, Luke, Andrew and Abigail Sheppard, Sofia, Bulgaria, Ethan, Zachary and Kaitlyn Anderson and Troy Knutson, all of Wichita. Memorial have been established with the Salvation Army and the Alzheimers Association.
