Dale H. Schauf
82, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Dale was born February 23, 1935 in Wichita, Kansas, to William and Elizabeth (Clasen) Schauf. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1957 and retired from Beechcraft after 29 years of employment. Dale enjoyed traveling, outdoor activities and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Book, Joann Baker, Pat Menefee and brother, Virgil Schauf. Survivors: wife, Vivian (Duryee) Schauf; son, Brett Schauf; daughter, Suzanne Whitehouse, and grandsons, Jacob McNutt (Bailey), Ryan Schauf and Blake Whitehouse. Visitation with the family, 5-7 p.m., Thursday, November 2, Downing & Lahey Mortuary West, 10515 W. Maple. Rosary, 10 a.m.; Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m., both Friday, November 3 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4411 W. Maple, all in Wichita. Burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Christ the King Cares, 4411 W. Maple, Wichita, KS 67209.
