Please accept our deepest condolences for your family’s loss.
Dan, Kathleen, Ester Maye & family, Heartfelt sympathy to you on the passing of Dan Sr. It has been such a pleasure meeting him and you folks at the USS BUSH reunions. I feel honored to have made his acquaintance. May he rest in peace.
Please accept my sincere heartfelt sympathy & condolenced in the loss of Dan. Both as a Kansas Volunteer Certified Ombudsman over eight+ years and the last year as just a volunteer @ Larksfield Place Health Center, my therapy dog, Hercules, and I got to know & love Dan. He seemed to enjoy us as much as we enjoyed seeing him! He was truly a wonderful man and we will miss him greatly
I was sorry to read about Dan’s passing in this morning’s paper. I just wanted you to know that Dan was my mentor during my years at USF&G. He will be missed.
Dan Jr, Kathleen, Esther-Maye and the rest of the Tontz family – I just want to send my sympathies on the passing of your Dad/Husband. What a treat it was for me to meet you all, and I was especially moved by your Dad’s great courage, stamina and spirit in attending USS BUSH reunions. Vivid memories of getting him aboard the USS Turner-Joy in Bremerton, WA for our memorial service in the rain and all…and no complaining from him. Those attrributes should be no surprise given he is a man who landed on Iwo Jima with the Marines in WWII. I am proud and pleased that our paths crossed, and that my own Dad could say he was a shipmate of your Dad/Husband. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about USS BUSH history through Dan’s eyes. All the best to you and yours as you say goodbye to him. I trust that many terrific memories will bring a smile and a warmth as you think of him in the years ahead. Sincerely, Ted Mayhugh
