Lyrics in honor of Daniel: Wish I were with you, but I couldn't stayEvery direction leads me awayPray for tomorrow, but for todayAll I want, is to be homeStand in the mirror, you look the sameJust looking for shelter, from the cold and the painSomeone to cover, safe from the rainAnd all I want is to be homeThe echoes and silence, patience and graceAnd all of these moments I'll never replaceNo fear of my heart absence of faithAnd all I want, is to be home.

When I first started playing shows in Wichita with Becoming Atlas, the first people who were nice to us was The Calm. I still remember us having lunch after that show at KCToo in Haysville. I remember the deal you made that if anyone showed up to one of your shows in a The Calm shirt, you’d buy us a drink. I remember the whole band forgetting who bought me a drink and milking it for 4-5 drinks accidentally. I remember going to kirbys shows and seeing you crowd surf on the tables during your set. I remember how you’d console me when I was bandless and bitching about it. Sadly, you’re not the first local musician I’ve morned. But this one stings in a way that is indescribable.
Great set man. Ask God if you can borrow his amp. You will be missed Dan Duntz.
Dan was such an important member of our Rockwood family in the 80s and 90s. I have the fondest memories of goofing off with him, playing 4 square, watching him perform with Dead Elvis, 4th of July “Fi-wooks,” and even the occasional deep conversation while in between shifts on the stand. He was kind, sensitive, smart, and absolutely HILARIOUS. Nicknames were common, inside jokes abounded, and top 10 lists were the highest form of entertainment. He made my time there better, and I am sure that was true for us all. Slippy, you will be sorely missed. I’m choosing this Meri-Rose nail colored candle in your honor☺️

So much love from Mary Ann and Jason. As animal lovers we were so happy to honor Dan’s funny and kind spirit with the Humane Society donation option. We were lucky to grow up with such a creative cousin who knew how to follow his heart. We’re thinking of Ashley and Anna and we’re so glad they will have his music.
I had so many great times hanging out with Danny and a familiar crew during my junior and senior year at Southeast high school, especially Mr. Clark’s class, which was unbelievable and legendary. While Mr. Clark lectured, Danny and I would rewrite Beatles’ lyrics, and we would burst into laughter together, thoroughly annoying Mr. Clark. Those memories have given me countless laughs over the decades after, and I could always count on Danny to laugh with me when we brought it up together. There was magic in the air during that time, and Danny was a witness and fellow summoner of that magic. You will be sorely missed, my friend! <3
Our condolences go out to Anna, Ashley, Pam, and all Dan’s family. We knew Dan initially as a young person and only recently learned of his grown up talents and accomplishments . May fond memories and the Lord’s comfort sustain you all at this difficult time. Bruce and Joanne Pafume and Family
Dan was the first person to share a smile or turn a bad situation into a positive. His laugh was infectious. In Coelo Quies Est, brother!
I am more than saddened to hear about Dan’s passing. He and I did part of our internship together during our family therapy program. I can hear him say, “hey Subuh” when we’d run into each other during such busy times in our lives! My thoughts are with his family.
He was an amazing therapist. I am so thankful I got to share and learn many times with him. My sincere condolences to his family. He will be greatly missed.
I just heard of this tremendous loss, The Duntz family was a neighbor and close friend and family member so to speak of our family for over 40 years. I am just learning of this particular situation. May the Lord grant you peace and comfort during this difficult time.
Thank you,
Julie Gill
