Guestbook

  1. Some people can see at a glance what others cannot see with searchlights and telescopes. Danny saw life as a blessing and lived his life accordingly. What a privilege it was to know him for 18 years. God never closes a door without opening another, and I know Danny has passed through that last door. Troy Smith US Road Freight

  2. I read about Danny’s recent passing in the K.C. Star & felt a deep sadness over losing a good guy. I first met Danny in the late 1970’s. I worked at Circle Airfreight & he at Land Air. Danny brought our shipments over every night, & we were sure glad to see him, because he was the last driver we had to wait on before we could go home. But it wasn’t very long before we liked seeing Danny because he was a nice guy. Plus, he kept us informed on what was going on at Emery Airfreight. In June 1980 I relocated to Wichita with my company. Danny did too. Both of us drove a Land Air truck down to Wichita one Friday night with all of my possessions & some of his. We both lived in the same apartment complex in Wichita & Danny would come over to my place sometimes before his wife relocated to Wichita. We would watch T.V. & have a glass or 2 of ‘Vino’ as Danny liked to refer to wine. I moved back to Kansas City about 6 months later & never saw Danny again. I sometimes thought about how his life turned out. It may seem like Danny died too young, but God has a plan for him, even if it is not understood & liked by those of us who loved & appreciciated him. Time changes all of us. But I will always remember Danny as that young guy wearing a blue Land Air uniform with a big toothy grin that said ‘it sure is nice to see you.’ Rest in peace Danny,& put in a good word or 2 for me to the Good Lord. Sincerely, John Hopkins

  4. I remember Danny when he was a student at St. Peter’s School in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a very good kid from a wonderful family! He was a friend to everyone and a talented athlete. All the Batliners are in my thoughts and prayers. May God comfort you and ease your sorrow. Love, Sister Jane

  5. To: The Family of Danny—Please know how sorry we are to hear of Danny’s passing. We hope you take comfort that the angels have taken him straight to heaven. He is a very very good friend, and he will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Linda, and all of your family.

  6. Linda and Family, May all the good memories give you comfort at this time. Danny was a good friend and co-worker. I could always rely on him if I had issues at work. As a friend — I could always rely on him then as well. RIP Brother.

  7. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. My wife and I both had the pleasure of working with Danny at Dugan. He was a great man and a great friend.

  8. Linda and family, Tim and I are so sorry for the loss of Danny in your lives. We both have cherished memories of Danny. He was a good friend in our high school years and then again in our early 20’s when we reconnected in Wichita! That is a funny story. We were heading back home to Wichita after a weekend in Kansas City. It was late at night and I was watching the cars wizz by as Tim drove. I looked up at a semi truck driver and was shocked to see Danny. I told Tim who it was and he asked if I was sure!! Well of course I was!!! I hung out the window at 65 miles per hour and waved at Danny! He thought it was some chick trying to put the moves on him!! WELLLLL when he realized it was Tim and I his smile spread from ear to ear:) We all stopped on the highway and talked for a half hour. It was so much fun hanging out with Danny, Linda and the kids after that! Thank you for sharing your family with us Linda. We will miss Danny in our hearts forever. He was a sweetheart and a wonderful man. Please know our thoughts are with you all. Please call if you need to talk. We have a lake house in Fort Scott and if you need a retreat in the future.
