Danny Joe O’Connell, age 75, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

 

Danny was born on June 27, 1950, to Mike and Winifred O’Connell. He married Vivian who had been a long time family friend, in 1976. Together they raised two children, Anne and Michael. After Vivian’s passing in 2000, Danny married Jean Horsch in 2002. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.

 

Danny spent his career in finance after receiving a business degree from WSU. He enjoyed spending time with family, fixing cars, and reading about history.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Anne Baker (Mark) of Wichita; son, Michael O’Connell (Emily) of Kansas City, MO; sister, Mary McFadden (Joel) of Wichita; four grandkids, Abigail Baker, Mark Baker, III, Rollie O’Connell, and Willa O’Connell; numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

 

Preceded in death by parents, Mike and Winfred O’Connell; wife Vivian; second wife, Jean O’Connell; sister, Marilyn; and brother, Patrick.

 

Rosary 7:00 pm, Sunday, July 13, 2025, and Funeral Mass, 10:00 am, Monday, July 14, 2025, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
