David Hollis

Hollis, David Neil age 72, dedicated husband, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016, in Albuquerque, NM. David was known for his virtuous principles, treating everyone fairly and honestly throughout his life. He loved his profession and as an architect, he designed commercial buildings. David was a graduate of Kansas State University school of architecture and was an ardent follower of the Wildcats. He found it a challenge to maximize function and structure for efficiency. His great joy was the design and overseeing the construction of his home here in Albuquerque. His profession was his passion in life. Other interests included cabinetry and automotive repair. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth Conner Hollis; sister, Karen and family of Kansas City, MO; brothers, Brian and family of Wichita, KS, Ralph and family of Pittsburgh, PA; sister-in-law, Beverley Conner Lasater, and nephews, Kelly and family, MacKenzie; brother-in-law, John Lasater, all of Albuquerque, NM; as well as his beloved four-legged kids, Clara and Frances. David was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Virginia Ostlund Hollis. Memorial services were held in Albuquerque, NM on Monday, August 15. Additional services in Wichita, KS will be at Downing & Lahey East Chapel, 6555 E. Central, Friday August 19, at 2:00 PM. Visitation with the family begins at 1:00 P.M. Internment will take place on Saturday, August 20, at Lorraine Baptist Church Cemetery, in Lorraine, KS at 1:00 PM.
