David Joseph Stallbaumer, 59, loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend, Senior Scheduler at Textron Aviation, died Sunday, January 25, 2026. David was a 1984 graduate of Bishop Carroll Catholic High School and an avid Chiefs Fan.

Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 29, 2026, Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, Friday, January 30, 2026, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

David is preceded in death by his father, William Francis Stallbaumer; and brother, Andrew Richard Stallbaumer. He is survived by his mother, Jane Magdelene Stallbaumer; wife, Conni Lynn (Schumacher) Stallbaumer;  sons, Alec (Ashley) Stallbaumer of Wichita, KS and their children, Avery and Ally Stallbaumer, Blake Stallbaumer of Kansas City, MO, Ethan Stallbaumer of Wichita, KS, Foster Stallbaumer of Wichita, KS; siblings, William (Tracy) Stallbaumer Jr., Stephen Stallbaumer, Amy (Brian) Unruh, Mary (Thomas) Davis, and Anthony Stallbaumer.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with: Ronald McDonald House Charities, 551 N. Hillside, Suite 102, Wichita, KS 67214.

Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary – West Chapel.

  1. I remember meeting David and Conni for the first time at the Anthony Lake with his brother Butch and wife Tracy. So full of life and always laughing. He will be missed by so many. I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers to the family.

  2. Anyone who attended D&C’s wedding may remember David dancing on the table tops doing the Pee Wee Herman dance then the table collapsing with him sliding down and kept on dancing like Patrick Swayze.🕺
    All the family vacations together and countless weekends camping. David had a “cousin Eddy” incident that will never be forgotten, ask any of the boys….💩😳
    Our latest adventure to S Bend for the ND game and visiting the Grotto was such a special trip, needless to say we never had a dull moment 🤣
    David was such a trivia buff that he was the anchor for the team and would come up with answers that most of us have forgotten from our school days that would help place the team 🥉
    We’ve had so many good times and lots of laughs to cherish him in our memories ☺️

  3. So sorry to hear the news, I grew up with David in SE Wichita. We went to St. Margaret Mary, Bishop Carroll and WSU together. My thoughts and prayers go out to Conni, and the rest of the Family. David was a good Man and friend. I can remember so many fun times. I can remember he and I going sledding one time and then his Brother Steve helped us out later that night, something involving a mailbox, lol. David even surprised me when I was in Wichita visiting my kids for my 40th B-day. It was a great time! David always had a way of making those around him feel welcome. I know Life takes us all in different directions, but we are all together in spirit. I am sorry we can’t make the ceremony, my Wife Rhonda and I live in the Atlanta area, but we will be there in heart and spirit. –Much Love, Tim & Rhonda Clark

  4. I met David in 1989 at Dillons #65. We worked the 4a.m. -1p.m. shift in the Produce Dept. Yes, Mary I remember the breaking of the table. David never missed a beat and kept on dancing. David could tell a whole story using song lyrics and movie quotes. David and Conni are my dearest friends who have really become family. Our families over the years have had some pretty epic vacations. I will miss David making me laugh til my cheeks hurt. David was wicked smart and never met a stranger. He loved his family fiercely and was so very proud of his boys.

  5. David lived a half block from our house. Jane and our Mom car pooled with the Stallbaumers to St. Margaret Mary School. My heart goes out to the Stallbaumer’s for their loss. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. May he Rest In Peace. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

  6. Dear Conni and boys,
    My deepest sympathies to all of you. I remember growing up and David would stay the night at our house some weekends and I always thought he was so cool. He told the best funny stories at the dinner table over the years when we celebrated the holidays. I’m so glad I got to spend some time around him this past Christmas. May he RIP.
