David R. Reitz

David R. Reitz Age 87, born in Rochester, NY, died Oct 25, 2017 in Wichita. David received his BS and Masters degrees from the University of Michigan in aeronautical engineering. He retired from Beech Aircraft. He earned his pilots license at age 17. After retirement, David volunteered for the Red Cross and drove over 100,000 miles delivering blood to hospitals throughout KS. He also built and flew model airplanes and played hand-bells many years at church. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Caroline; children, Dr. Eric Reitz (Elizabeth) and Dr. Sarah Willis (Scott); grandchildren, Cristina, Lindsey, Drew, Anna, Stephanie, JD, and Nathan; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Buchanan. Memorial service will be Sat Nov 11, 3:30 pm (NOTE CHANGED TIME) at First Presbyterian Church, 525 N. Broadway. Memorial gifts may be made to charity of donors choice.
