86, retired civil engineer died Sunday, April 24, 2016 following a stroke. Dean was born December 3, 1929 in Carmen, OK to Geo. Dudley and Linda Bayliff Sellers. The family relocated to Wichita in the 40s and Dean attended East High and graduated from Wichita University in 1952. Dean spent the next thirty years working for the City of Wichita and retiring as Acting City Engineer. In 1986 he joined MKEC Engineering Consultants where he enjoyed sharing his "gray hairs" of experience for the next 22 years. Dean always enjoyed humor and words, he read, kept up on current events, listened to an assortment of musical styles, took photos and liked to socialize. Dean is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda; four daughters from a prior marriage, Terry (Larry Webb) Sellers of NYC; Jan (Noel) Schick, Geri Sellers, Leslie (Dave) Larson, all living in the Seattle area. Grandchildren are Cirrus (Chuck) Ervin, Conner Fowler, Dean and Carly Larson. Dean was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim; brothers-in-law, Jim Francoeur and Chuck Lawrence. He is survived by sisters, Evelyn Francoeur of Overland Park and Virginia Lawrence of Wichita; brother, Bob (Carol) of Eureka, CA; sister-in-law, Norma Sellers of Wichita. A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202. A memorial service in his honor will be held for friends and relatives on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 beginning at 1:00 P.M. on the second floor of the Wichita Sedgwick County Historical Museum, 204 S. Main, Wichita, KS. Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
