Denise Dean Sparacino, 52, of Wichita, passed away on August 31, 2023. She is preceded in death by her father, Glyn Laird, mother, Edna Laird, and brother, Bruce Laird. Denise is survived by her birth mother Jay Miller, her siblings: Glyn Laird, Ray Laird, Terry Laird, and Susan Mims. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Sparacino, her children: Logan Dean, Lindsey Dean, and her step children: Nick Sparacino, Joe Sparacino, Christina Harper, Ann Marie Sparacino, Daniel Sparacino, and Dorothy Ann Sparacino. Denise Laird was born on April 1st, 1971, in Clearwater, FL to Jay Miller. She spent her childhood in Biloxi, MS before moving to Rose Hill, KS with her family in 1981. There she excelled academically and fostered lifelong friendships. She graduated from Rose Hill high school in 1989 and attended Kansas State University. She joined Pi Beta Phi sorority and set her heart on a course of caring for others through nursing. She graduated from Wichita State University Nursing School with a BSN in 1993 and immediately began her nursing career at Wesley medical intensive care unit. Within the year she was promoted to assistant manager, then manager. Denise furthered her nursing career in education and pharmaceutical/medical equipment sales and received numerous national awards. Professionally Denise was a true leader who always set goals and attained them.As she began her family, she transitioned to a career in real estate, yet maintained her connection and love of nursing by serving as a home health and hospice nurse. Of all that Denise excelled in, being a mom brought her the most joy. Logan and Lindsey were her everything. A selfless mom, wholly devoted to growing her children in their faith, she taught them how to serve others. Denise enjoyed supporting and watching her kids in endless activities. She loved them with boundless devotion and just recently managed to move them both to college, in two different states, on the same day!She lived to serve others as a mom, friend, daughter, nurse, neighbor, sister, and businesswoman. Her days and calendar were filled with meeting the needs of everyone she knew and loved. Her tireless example of task completions is credited for a new term used to describe a packed day as “Denise busy.” If you were moving, having a baby, undergoing surgery, in a crisis or celebration of any kind, she was there - with frosted sugar cookies and a 9x13 lasagna. Her unfailing loyalty was beyond compare and why so many women called her their best friend. Denise’s love and infectious laughter will live on and now she is at peace in her Savior’s arms.Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, September 23rd at 10 am at Pathway Church Westlink location at 2001 N Maize Rd, Wichita, KS.
