Dennis Lindeman died on March 4, 2025 at Harry Hynes Hospice, Wichita, KS. He was born on January 11, 1930 to Anna (Moellering) and Louis Lindeman.
He grew up in Sheridan County milking cows and feeding chickens before walking to school. He graduated from 8th grade from Pleasant Ridge County School. While his older brother served in the military, he and his brother Dyke continued working on the farm. In 1940 the family moved to the Moellering Homestead. He enlisted in the army in 1951 and was summoned to Camp Karson, CO. He then later was transferred to Wisconsin for artillery training. The training allowed him service in Germany. After his army days, he worked for a sand company, Oakley Livestock, and later bought the homestead and continued farming until retirement.
On April 5, 1956 he married Helen Nickelson. They celebrated 68 years of marriage.
Dennis and Helen lived on the family homestead until 1994 when they moved to Oakley, KS. While retired he briefly drove an activity school bus and picked up railroad engineers when their hours were up. He enjoyed bus trips and going on cruises with family and friends, playing pinochle with life-long card club friends and playing bingo while at Catholic Care Center. Sundays were days to play dominoes and pitch with family. He made many friends while residing at Catholic Care Center and staff enjoyed his cowboy boots he wore everyday.
He was a life long VFW member.
