Diane L. (Rutherford) Wohler, 75, loving mother, wife, and grandma, died Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Rosary will be at 10:00 am, Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Diane was born on March 18, 1950, to Loretta and Don Rutherford. She grew up in a large family with four sisters and two brothers. She was an animal lover who was known to bring home strays and provided a loving home to numerous pets throughout her life. Her love for animals was only surpassed by her love of children and her family. Diane fell in love with the boy next door, Larry Wohler. Shortly after graduating from Madonna High School, they married and spent 54 happy and loving years together. Her life’s work was to raise her children and all she wanted to be was a good mother, wife, and friend. She cared for her children more than for herself and her happiness was fulfilled by theirs. Diane’s love for children grew with each grandchild, she was blessed with seven in all. Diane cared for all things around her, from people to animals, to the plants in her garden. She enjoyed baking (with her secret ingredient love), any story with a happy ending, and singing silly songs. Diane was truly adored by everyone for the love and care she embodied and freely shared with those she met. Diane is preceded in death by her father, Don D. Rutherford; and sister, Dorita Guymon. She is survived by her mother, Loretta C. Rutherford; husband, Lawrence "Larry" E. Wohler; daughters, Michele Southworth, Daniele (Ryan) Schroeder, Christi Wohler; son, Kevin Wohler; grandchildren, Colton, Brianna, Macie, Madison, Jake, Owen, Jaxon; siblings, Donna (Bill) Collazo, Don Rutherford, II, Dan (Sharon) Rutherford, Debbie Siroky, and Denise (Billy) Gray. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Daniele, Mrs. Wohler’s daughter, is my best and a life-long friend and my memories of Mrs. Wohler go back some 36 years ago. She always greeted me with a cheerful smile and made the most delicious meals I have ever had in my life. She kept her house in order and made sure that everyone was taken of.

Mrs. Wohler had a big heart and she made herself available to anyone who needed her help. She and her family were there for me through life’s tides and turns.
I observed how supportive and loving she was with her husband and children.
I feel a deep sense of loss with her passing but I will find comfort knowing that she is in the arms of her creator.

  2. I am deeply saddened to hear of Mrs. Wohler’s passing. Throughout our high school years, she warmly welcomed me and so many of our friends into her home with kindness and grace. She was a true example of what it means to be a devoted mother, loving wife and a genuinely kind person. Her presence made a lasting impact on all of us. The family is in my thoughts and prayers, and I pray for peace and comfort for you all during this difficult time. She will be missed.

  3. Our deepest sympathies go out to the Wohler family. Daniele, Diane’s and Larry’s daughter, is our daughter-in-law, and Diane’s love, warmth, and joy for life are evident in Danele’s and her husband Ryan’s family. Though we share the family’s loss in Diane’s passing, it’s comforting to know that her kindness and love live on in the family that she made.

  4. Diane was the sweetest and gentlest woman I’ve ever met. Growing up as an only child she was a great mentor for parenting advice and the best example of patience I have ever witnessed.
Remember the elk hide you guys froze for us for ages in NM. We almost forgot it or did we.
My condolences to all of you, we were just sharing some memories of her on my trip up to CO memorial week. I’m so sorry for your loss, she was a loving, kind person to all, who’s path she crossed.

  9. Diane and I were good friends in high school. I remember the fun we had. I didn’t see her for a lot of years but we did get together for breakfast one morning. That was a 3 hr breakfast that we reminisced about when we were young and had a great time! She was a wonderful sweet person. ❤️❤️
