Lovely ceremony. Aunt Doady will always be remembered for her happy disposition and larger than life laugh. So thankful for the support given while our mom was sick, routine calls made a difference. She was a great lady. Peace to you all in the coming days and months. Julie Donovan George, Olathe, KS
Thank you Julie. My mom loved your mom and the entire Gillen clan. I have many fond memories of the the Gillens getting together at Kingman and Winfield to celebrate holidays and other events. Take care and peace to you and your family too!
Oh my Doady…our wonderful neighbor and friend. The boys, when in their teens, babysat our kids. Her husband was a special visitor often, and usually in the garage where mine was working. When my husband was so sick, she came and stayed with him for 8 hours so that I could go to Manhattan to a funeral. And also at that time, Kylie and I had to leave in the night to go to St. Francis to be with Don. Guess who I called? Yes, Doady. She came and slept on the sofa till we got back in the wee hours. What a special friend, and our grandchildren loved her. In fact, one of the girls called her “my very best friend”. I love this picture of her. I shall remember her this way, and can see her in my mind right now…..working in their garage. I love you, Doady. To the sons and family, I soooo wanted to see you but I was occupied with prior plans, and health issues. But I will never forget you all. Love and blessings to each of you.
Thank you so much for your kind words and memories. My mom and dad loved you and Don. You were the best friends and neighbors to them. Your recollections personify the type of people my mom and dad were and we will always cherish them and the memories of growing up on Wilbur Lane. Take care and God Bless!
