Dolores Hambright

Hambright, Dolores “Dee,” 83, passed from this life on March 14, 2015. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Downing Lahey Mortuary, 6555 E. Central Ave., Wichita, Kansas on Friday, March 20, 2015. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Reformation Lutheran Church, 7601 E. 13th Street, Wichita, Kansas. Dee is survived by her husband of nearly 61 years, John Frederick “J. Fred” Hambright III; children, John Frederick Hambright Iv (Kim) of Wheat Ridge, CO, Marjorie Bernice “Marby” Hambright Wolff (Mark) of Santa Margarita, CA; 3 grandchildren, Benjamin Frederick Hambright currently residing in Hawaii, John Jefferson “J.J.” of Denver, CO, JoDee Marie Hambright of Fort Collins, CO. Dee was born in Denver on October 20, 1931, and moved to Kansas in 1954. In her lifetime she was many things to her family and friends - Girl Scout Leader, PTA president, artist, music and travel enthusiast, and ski instructor. Dee was a long-time member of the Reformation Lutheran Church and Delta Gamma Sorority, and was an active volunteer for the Assistance League of Wichita - serving as its scholarship committee chairwoman for a number of years. Memorials have been established with Assistance League of Wichita (2611 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, Kansas 67211) and with the Union Rescue Mission (2800 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219).
