Donald J. Brady, 60, resident of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on April 4, 2013. Don graduated from Andover High School in Andover, Kansas. He was a longtime employee of Boeing and eventually Spirit Aerosystems, ending his 34-year career last month in supply chain management. He was a dad, a grandpa, a friend, a golfer and a rockstar. Early in Dons life he realized his love for music, especially playing the guitar. He was a talented musician forming his own band in October 1977 called “Don Brady and the Last Earthbound Band”, recording an album that same year. After his rock and roll days Don became an avid golfer, enjoying his time spent on the links of Derby Golf and Country Club. He spent many hours playing with his beloved golfing buddies, sometimes having a questionable score. His friends are still confused by the day he put a seven on the score card after they saw him swing about nine times and kick the ball three times. Don loved Jayhawk basketball and The Port of Wichita. Don was handsome, funny and charming. Whether you loved him or hated him, you would inevitably be drawn to him with his witty comments and smirk. He had a daughter that thought he hung the moon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Brady (nee Smith), and father, Keith Brady. He is survived by his only child, a daughter, Stacie Brady of Seabrook, TX; his soon to be son-in-law, Maurice Heimlich; grandson, Blake Brady; adopted son, Grant Jones of Wichita, and many friends and extended family. Visitation with the family, 5-7 p.m., Monday, April 8; Celebration of Life service, 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made for a memorial bench at a golf club. For more information contact Grant Jones.
