86, retired radiator shop co-owner, died Friday, November 10, 2017. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, November 15, 2017; Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 16, 2017, both at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Clara Kimple, and sisters, Norma Dill, and Shirley Coble. Survived by his wife, Virginia Kimple; daughters, Joyce (Dianna) McGlothern and Corriene Heath; brother, Dean Kimple; grandchildren, Tonya (Chad) Archer, Chad (Johnonta) McGlothern, Shawn (Traci) Heath, and 8 great-grandchildren. Don was born in Lyons, Kansas on September 7, 1931. He was the 2nd child of Harold and Clara Kimple. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1949. After high school, Don joined the Air Force and served in the Korean War. He married Virginia Venis on December 31, 1954, in Lyons, Kansas. Upon leaving the service, they moved to Wichita, Kansas, and had 2 girls, Joyce and Corriene. He was kept very busy with Virginia and the girls, spending his time coaching teams, leading groups and camping. After retirement, he spent his time traveling, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and wintering in South Texas. Don passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
