Donna M. Jones

Donna M. Jones, 86, Retired Hospital Administrator, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas following a heart attack and related health complications. Donna was born on December 29, 1937 in Kansas City, KS to Arthur and Florence (Nelson) Marti, who preceded her in death. Her life-long healthcare career included working at St. John’s Hospital in Salina, KS and St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita, KS as Director of Admissions and Outpatient Services. As her friends will attest, Donna was a ferocious bridge and card player, active bowler, and avid golfer. Most of all, she loved babysitting and supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their school and sporting events. Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Howard Jones; son, Kevin Jones; grandchild, Aubrey Jones; siblings, AJ Marti, Juanita Kinney, Marcia Fittro and Annette Waldrup. Survived by her sons, Duane (Debra) Jones of Wichita, Kenneth Jones of Loveland, CO; daughters, Margaret Phillips (Tom) Graff of Wichita, Lynn (Don) Lavallee of Winfield, KS, De (Jane ) Jones of Savannah, GA, Jacinda (Milo) Unruh, Janis (Darren) Roberts, Chris (Tom) Johnston, all of Wichita, Janette (Jeff) Kirkpatrick of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Marissa Sample, Whitney Jones-Sponsel, Alaina Jones, Harrison Wald, Nicholas Cherry, Erica League, Sarah (Benny Knoblauch) Lavallee, Jonathan (Samantha) Unruh, Stacey (Malcolm) Thomas, Blythe (Ryan) Hinderliter, Matthew Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Hannah (Ben) Suellentrop, Erin Johnston, Kennedy Kirkpatrick, Parker Kirkpatrick; and 13 great-grandchildren. Donna is also survived by her brothers, Dale (Sue) Marti of Kansas City, MO and Gary (Ginny) Marti of Wichita, KS. Funeral Service and Mass to be held on Tuesday, November 26 at 10:00 a.m. held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 N. Stratford Lane, Wichita, KS Burial Service directly following Funeral Service at Calgary Cemetery, 610 S. Vassar, Wichita KS.
