Doris I. Rohloff, 89, passed away April 22, 2016. Service, 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Oscar Harzmann and Roy Rohloff, and 4 brothers. Survived by sister, Phyllis Tucker; step-children, Roy Rohloff, Jr., Janet Thornburg and Greg Rohloff; 6 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Born April 26, 1926, in rural Edwards County to William and Angie Westphal, Doris grew up on a farm learning good work ethics, cooking, sewing, and needlecraft, as well as working in the fields and with the livestock. Her career started at Beech during World War II for the war effort. She returned home to work locally and was married in 1949. She moved back to Wichita and returned to Beech to work for 39 more years before retiring. Doris and Roy had lost their spouses and they met at Beech where they both worked. They enjoyed 33 years of marriage before his death in 2010. During those years, they spent time traveling, camping, fishing and bowling and she loved meeting the people there and through their church. Doris enjoyed cooking, sewing and all kinds of crafts. She was a hard worker and always willing to help others. Her smile and laughter will be missed by all. Memorials established with Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N.
