Hitzeman, Dwayne Louis, 65, retired Learjet engineer, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Visitation with the family, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Saturday, September 18, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Service, 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 19, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 401 N. Westlink. Preceded in death by father, Edwin Hitzeman; mother, Bernice (Seyfert) Hitzeman. Survivors: daughter, Kalynne Hitzeman Paradis (Duane) of Highlands Ranch, CO; son, Kevin Hitzeman of Goddard; sisters, Delores Shrock (Jerry) of Portland, OR and Sharon Hess of Sedgwick; grandchildren, Alyssa and Ashlee Paradis. Memorial established with The ALS Association, 3450 N. Rock Rd., S-211, Wichita, KS 67226.

Dear Hitzeman family, I saw you on the news this evening about your loved one’s home being burglarized while you were having his service and your name rang a bell for me. I am sure that my son, Kris, went to Northwest with Kevin, they graduated in 1996. My husband, Kris’s father passed away in 2004 from ALS also. His name was Kerry Gray. I am so sorry for your loss, it is a terrible disease.
