Pierce, Dwight, 66, passed away Monday, September 5, 2011. He retired from Westar Energy as Manager of Plant Chemistry. His passions were serving at GracePoint Church, riding motorcycles and being involved in BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse). Survivors: wife, Linda; daughters, Kim Cooter and Kelli Allred; stepchildren, Jeff and Cynthia Greenfeather; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Public visitation with the family, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 8; Memorial Service, 11 a.m., Friday, September 9, both at GracePoint Church, 9035 W. Central in Wichita. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with BACA Kansas Chapter, P.O. Box 2096, Wichita, KS 67201. Downing Lahey Mortuary West.

Dwight was a wonderful man with a heart of gold, he will be missed. My heart goes out to his family and they are in my prayers at this difficult time.
Dear Linda and family- I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Although I didn’t know Dwight personally, he was clearly a very special man with a huge heart. He is truly a hero, and he has forever inspired and touched the lives of many. His bravery and his kindness will live on forever in the memories of others. All too soon and all too fast! It’s never the right time. My prayers are with the entire family as you grieve and go through this season of mourning. I praise God that we will someday celebrate again with him.
