Earl F. Callison, Jr.

Earl Francis Callison, Jr., 84, retired CEO and owner of The Walt Keeler Co., Inc., passed away Friday, December 18, 2015. Born May 14, 1931, he was preceded in death by his parents Earl Sr. and Ona Griffith, his wife Karol, son Kelly, and brother Larry Callison. Earl graduated from East High School and after serving in the US Navy during the Korean conflict, returned home to marry Karol and graduate from Wichita University (WSU) with a degree in Engineering and as a member The Men of Webster (Delta Upsilon). Earl was active in city, state, and national organizations relating to the concrete industry, and most notably served as the Chairman of the Board of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association. He loved his years coaching the Keeler Colts little league baseball team and was a dedicated member of various Wichita civic organizations including the Wichita Crime Commission, Wagon Masters, Wichita Rotary, East Side Ys Mens Club, and attained the high honor of serving as a Scottish Rite Mason for 50 years. Earl was an avid golfer, loved to read, and watch John Wayne westerns and Fox News. Survivors include daughter, Kristen, and son-in-law, Alan Martin; grandchildren, Jade, Jordan (Caitlin) and Jonathan Martin, Tiffany (Brad) Saville and Teall Callison; two great-grandchildren, and sister, Anita Rikli. Memorials can be made in Earls honor to the Wichita State University College of Engineering and The Wichita Childrens Home. Memorial service will be held at Downing and Lahey Mortuary West, December 29, 2015 at 3pm.
