Edith Winter Betzen

Betzen, Edith Winter, 80, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, went to be with her Lord,Friday, October 13, 2006 after a life of faithfully serving her Lord, family and community.. Rosary 5:00 P.M., Sunday, October 15, funeral mass and burial 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 16, all at St. Josephs Catholic Church, Andale, KS. Edith was born in Andale, Kansas to Julius R. and Frances K. (Freund) Winter. She devoted her life to her husband, seven children, community and church. Edith was the organist at St. Josephs Church in Andale for 34 years. On August 2, 1949, she married M.J. Betzen. Preceded in death by brothers, Wilfred, Edwin, Clarence, Eugene and Robert Winter and sister, Bertille Emming. Survivors: husband, M. J. (Bud) Betzen; children and spouses, Mark and Gwen Betzen of Cunningham, Ellen and David Lilly of Garden Plain, Ron and Cindy Betzen of Wichita, Dale Betzen of Wichita, Elisa and Eric Schwaiger of Andale, Janell and Fred Schwaiger of Andale, and Gary Betzen of Kauai, Hawaii; 23 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Virginia Winter of Conway Springs, Rose Winter of Andale and Catherine Winter of Shulte; brother-in-law, Lawrence Emming of Mason, Ohio.
