Guestbook

  1. Mary,Mike,Pete,& Kriwiel family…Coach Kriwiel has had such a positive influence on my life…athletic and otherwise…a man whom exuded integrity and as a coach knew how to be demanding yet encouraging…indeed a God-given privilege to play for him! I’ll always be thankful for the ‘boyhood friends & teammates’ Mike & Pete were…on behalf of my entire family we wish you All God’s Blessings & ccomfort…jay…Romans10:9

  2. Eddie was my coach, my mentor and my coach for three years. I graduated in 1956 and it was some of the best times of my life. He didn’t just talk the talk he walked the walk and was respected and loved by all whom he touched. He came to our 50th class reunion in 2006 and I think that speaks volumes for the way he felt about all that he had contact with. Thanks for sharing him with all of us. West High School

  3. I was a sophomore at West High in 1966 and am one of thousands who admired Coach Kriwiel so much and I send my deepest sympathy. I taught 2nd Grade for a short while with Julie Carr at St.Francis of Assisi and thought so much of her also. Please know that my family and I are remembering you in our prayers.

  4. Eddie, you’ll always be MY coach. You had a profound affect on my life, and I count my blessing everyday to have played for you. West High class of 1963. More importantly I am soo thankful to have known you as a person. You thought me lessons that I still use today. Mary, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I look forward to seeing him again someday.

  5. Dear Kriwiel Family, I was so sorry to learn of Eddie’s death. This can be such a difficult time of the year to lose a loved one. What a remarkable man Ed Kriwiel was! I know that each of you have many wonderful memories of him. Those memories are a permanent part of you and will always be there for you to enjoy. He was a man of strength, fortitude, kindness, diligence, deducation, and resilience. I know his wonderful character will live on in each of you and yours. He embraced his responsibilities with grit and determination! How pleased you must be with the strong legacy he left. That legacy is an integral part of the Wichita community. His legacy will continue to live on in his family and friends. Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Fondly, jinx saggau moore

  6. Dear Mrs. Kriwiel, Ann, and entire family, I was so saddened to hear of Coach Kriwiel’s passing. You and your family will be in my prayers. The burden of this difficult time will hopefully be lightened by the outpouring of love and affection from the many whose lives he touched so deeply.

  7. I wanted to express my condolences to the Kriwiel family. Mr. Kriwiel was a great man and coach and feared in football in Wichita, Kansas. I learned a lot by watching when my uncle Chuck was coaching at Kapaun. I will always remember the championship game played in Emporia, Kansas. Coach Kriwiel will be missed. Sincerely, Clay Porter

  8. Mary and Family, I am truly at a loss for words to describe the impact Ed has had on my life as a family friend and football coach. His wisdom, guidiance, encourgement, respect, trust and love for all on and off the football field has made me a better man. I observed how he adored his family and strive to do the same. My mom and dad and all of us Miller kids love you and yours so much. He is in good company with Jack and Norma. Carol and I speak of you both often with joy in our hearts and alot of laughter, but Mary please know that you and Ed have always held a very special place in my heart. If I can ever help you in any way just call.

  9. My thoughts and prayers are with the Kriwiel family at this time. Coach Kriwiel was an inspirational man and, under his direction, ordinary people could do extraordinary things. May God’s light shine upon him and grant him eternal rest.

  10. Hello and our sympathy to the Kriwiel family. My dad, who passed away in November of 1999, was Robert D. Lytle. He was the assistant football coach at West High in the 1960’s (1966,67) with Ed Kriwiel. He spoke of many good times with the football team and coaches at West High. He was also a wrestling coach for West High at that time, also- the champion wrestling team at West, I might add. He admired Ed Kriwiel and spoke of many of Ed’s winning secrets that stayed with him forever. My dad went on to be Asst. Principal for the USD 259 school system around 1969-70 up to 1994 when he retired. My dad spoke of many great memories, stories, and good times that had been shared of the winning football team at West High in the 1960’s with Ed Kriwiel. God Bless and may his winning spirit remain forever!

  11. Dear Mary and all the Kriwiel Family, I am very sorry we could not be with you today for Ed’s services. I’ve read many of the messages and they really say it all about Ed. He touched so many lives in his life. As a family, the Kriwiel family has certainly touched the Chevalier’s in so many ways. He taught me so much while I was at KMC, I can’t describe what he meant in my life. Most importantly, he taught me to love deeply, never give up and always swing through the drive! Well, I didn’t learn that last one so well, but he gave it his all. Beth and I have been touched so much, we can only wish you are most sincere condolences. I hope that you know if we can do anything, just please let us know. God bless you in your sorrow and God bless Ed’s soul. Take care.

  12. MARY: I have told you before that Eddie helped me greatly during my coaching carreer. He shared his football schemes with anybody that asked for help. I have always been greatful for his help. No matter how much a coach tried to be like Eddie that was impossible. His unique disposition, demeanor and football savvy made that impossible. A sample of Eddie’s greatness: Gary, my son was the QB at Wichita Heights and was injured during the week in practice preparing to play KMC. His injury ended his football season. The day after our game, Eddie was at the hospital wishing Gary well. Gary and our family will never forget that gesture, that was special! I could go on and on about Eddie! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, Lou Valadez
