Edward E. Ed Garner

Edward E. “Ed” Garner, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 surrounded by family. Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Born in Fort Worth, TX on August 3, 1939. Survived by wife, Gaile, of 52 years; and 4 children, Scott Fromme, Shawn (Wes) Nichols, Barbara (Dr. William) Elfarr, Michael (Denise) Garner; 8 grandchildren, Andrea, Audrey, George, Jennifer, Alexander, Nathan, Alex, and Tate; 9 great-grandchildren. Graduate of Emporia State University with Master of Science in Biology. Employed with Sedgwick County Health Department from 1965-1994 and was associated with numerous health organizations throughout the years. Recipient of the Samuel S. Crumbine Medal for Meritorious Service in Public Health. A memorial has been established with: Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
