we are so sorry for your loss my dad worked for Fahnestock for many years George will be greatly missed in our city and in our hearts
I sincerely offer my condolences. Although nobody denies the certainty of death, it can be real comfort in knowing that such a good man as Edward will be in God’s memory. He lived a rich and successful life. His footprints that were left will always be seen and the sands of time will not wash them away. The sting of death not only pains but numbs survivors. Many may ask why. Yet the strong may weep under the weight of grief. Even Jesus wept. What a blessing it will be when we can rightly ask: ‘Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?’1 Corinthians 15:55. May the family find the consolation in the ‘power beyond what is normal’ to go from one day to the next. (2 Corinthians 4:7) Please feel free to contact me. Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. ~Author Unknown
My condolences to the Fahnestock family. George was not only my boss but he was my friend. He was an inspiration to everyone he met. George will be missed greatly.
Mr. Fahnestock will be sorely missed in the Wichita community. However, he will be missed by me & my family too & I live outside the Wichita community. When I was flooded out of my home in 98, and had to have a new HVAC, he was very kind & gave us as good of a deal as he could. I used to work for Denny Van Burkirk & he always had a kind word for everyone he met. He always took time to talk to you.
Dear Family, The great smile the good works and the leadership of your wonderful George will be visible and live on with each of us for a long time….your great loss and sorrow is deeply shared. Don Gaylor
The Retrouvaille Community of Wichita would like to extend it’s sincerely sympathy and prayers to Dee Anne and the entire family during this time of sorrow and loss.
We are truly saddened by George’s passing. Our friendship spanned over 28 years. The Wagonmaster membership will truly miss him not to mention the thousands of people whose lives have been enriched by his enthusiasm and community spirit. We regret that we will be unable to attend his services. Please accept our deepest sympathies. Larry and Linda Hollis

George never knew a stranger and what a smile he had. He will surely be missed by so many. We are very sorry for your loss and pray that one day we all meet again.
To Paul and Linda, my family is so sorry about the loss of your brother George. Of course, my brother Mike and George were friends for many years. Your family and the Wichita community have really suffered a shock. There is no way to replace him. My prayers are with you all.
We first met them about 20 some years ago at Fred Hadley’s Halloween Party. Dee Ann was a beautiful, gracious lady and George was an affable, fine gentleman. Condolencies to the family. It is always sad to see a good man leave us.
Eric and family, I don’t really know what to say. I still can’t believe I won’t be traveling with, playing golf and joking with George any more. He was my friend, and I miss him already.
DeeAnne and Family….George will be missed by everyone and I will remember the wonderful times we all shared together, parties, cruises, and golfing. I’m sure George is playing right now with Richard. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!!!
We were so sorry to here about George. Just know that you are in our prayers. We are here for you. Pastor Jerry will be at the service tomorrow a.m. I am not sure I can attend. Paul, if you have time, contact us before you leave town. We don’t know how to reach you. Our love is with the family.

Sally, Steve and family, We are so sorry for your loss. It sounds as though your brother was a wonderful, giving man. You and your entire family will be in our prayers. Love, Patti and Frank Capella
What a wonderful man he was. He will be tragically missed by hundreds, if not thousands. He always took the time to help me during my United Way campaign planning and it was greatly appreciated. Watching him speak to an audience about the importance of giving back was awe inspiring.
with deepest regrets and sorrow for your loss i can only hope that your family will find peace & comfort as we all mourn the loss of a good man. i was only an acquaintance of george at sehs; later in life i really got to know & respect george for his kindness and humility. i’m glad i played golf once with george, that i ribbed him at the hs reunion, and that as a social worker, i knew firsthand the blessings his community work brought to thousands of people now & into the future. i will truly miss george fahnestock… john turck
I’ve learned a lot from George over the years. His energy and generosity have motivated me. His love for Wichita State and the city of Wichita have empowered me. His smile, his greeting and firm handshake have been an example. His untimely death offers teaching as well. I have faith that God will allow all of you to walk through this pain and heal as time allows. You are all in my thoughts. I believe George is at peace.
George will be missed by many but his time and service will not beforgotten.
We will miss you.
Susan, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. You are in my thoughts.
